I felt like a tinfoil hat-type even recording this, but because I do it almost every day at some point, I figured it warranted a quick video.

Do I actively seek out mirrors to see if anyone from the casino is watching me? No. But casinos tend to have mirrors, and even slot machines can offer some reflective properties. I try to do everything I can to not look suspicious, so I never want to keep looking over my shoulder like some kind of shifty criminal in a cartoon.

Instead, I rely on peripheral vision and reflective surfaces in general to see all sorts of things without actually turning my head like an owl. I can see if anyone is eyeballing me, whether it’s fellow slot hustlers or perhaps even security or someone on the lookout for advantage players.

Are they watching? If you think they are, you’re probably right. In that case, don’t check for plays until things feel safer. Tuck the player’s card away for good. You can still be picked off by the eye in the sky, but if that happens, there’s not a whole lot you can do anyway.

I do what I can to blend in (more on that in a different post). Anyway, don’t drive yourself nuts thinking about this stuff, but do what you can, and be aware of your surroundings.
