The Gilpin is up the street from Ameristar and The Lodge, heading up toward Saratoga, Bull Durham, and a few other small casinos.

What’s nice about The Gilpin is that it’s open 24 hours a day, which not all casinos in Black Hawk can say. The selection of games isn’t overwhelming by any stretch, so I would not call this a casino you must stop in while in Black Hawk.
Still, it’s a small casino that’s worth checking out, as you would all the others. I found enough plays to make it worth my time most days.
