I frequently travel through KY for work and there are several casinos around with only historical horse racing machines. Generally they are pretty light on AP machines but I have found a few installs of Magic Treasures and Piggies/Hens. I assume these should be playable, albeit at a higher point due to the low RTP?

I took a magic treasures play with 18 money balls on 1c/160 and ran it up to 41 before it finally hit and got me just about back to even. What are your thoughts on HHR minimum conditions?

Here’s a prior thread where this came up (I’m on my phone or I’d get a cleaner link):

        Are Class 2 machines AP?

My gut feeling is these can still be played, but I certainly wouldn’t be as jazzed about finding a big play on one of these as I would on a standard slot. But I’ve also never actually encountered one, so this is just speculation for now.

To answer your question: I’d play with the same minimums until I got burned enough.

Thanks for the link and the info.

I haven’t played enough in KY to get a true sense but will continue to experiment as opportunities arise, and will probably raise my minimums slightly until I get more info. My understanding is that HHRs typically have a lower RTP than traditional Class 3 machines, but have not been able to locate any published data to confirm this.

Sure thing. If you ever feel like sharing any of your results on those, we’re all ears. I may even make a trip at some point to test it out firsthand.

Yeah, the HHR version of money balls is still plenty playable, but you have to adjust your numbers up…the annoying thing is that you can’t speed-spin an HHR in the same way you can on a class 3, so they take forever.
