The Cosmo just recently (mid-2024) came under MGM stewardship. It used to have a players card called “Identity”…how vogue! And that’s the atmosphere the Cosmo still projects: glamorous, upscale, fancy nightlife-seeming. You get the idea.

Before the Cosmopolitan became an MGM property, I was told to leave on two separate occasions for slot hustling. I tried to play it off like I didn’t know much, and maybe that worked because they just told me to leave without actually banning me in the system. Once MGM took over initially, no one seemed to care about slot grinding, though from what I hear these days, you’re going to want to be as careful as you can at all MGM locations.

How are the slots? Well, you’ll still find some holdover advantage play games from the Identity days that you won’t find at other MGM locations in Vegas, but you’ll also still see plenty of the run-of-the-mill AP slots you’d see everywhere. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I do always like finding those rare AP games.

The competition, of course, is high. Cosmo is in the heart of the strip, nestled between Aria and Bellagio. There’s a nice-sized high-limit section, so if you ever get exceedingly lucky and stumble upon something there, that would sure hit the spot. I always check out Cosmo during my Vegas trips, but it’s a tough place to find solid plays without camping.
