Whenever I think of this one, I now can only think of that annoying poker player Martin Kabrhel.

Casino Royale is a small casino sandwiched between some heavy-hitters. It’s across the street from the old Mirage (now Hard Rock). It’s kind of between a lot of Caesars locations but not quite North enough to the Venetian or Wynn and Encore.

I like Casino Royale because it has some fun advantage games you’re unlikely to see in many other spots. At least the last time I was there, they still had Aladdin’s Fortune and Super Bowl Jackpots, two slots you don’t see with much regularity these days.

The place has a distinct smell; perhaps the Subway (food) in the back is contributing? I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it’s not the most pleasant. I would not call the location “unsafe” like it sometimes feels when you get too far North past Encore, but there is a slight seedy element when you’re walking in and around Casino Royale.

Still, it’s worth stopping in. You won’t trip over play after play, as this is still Vegas after all. But because it’s not affiliated with any of the big boys in town, pros are more likely to leave borderline offerings. Don’t go wasting your money on a long-run Wolf Run Eclipse kind of game, because what’s the point of building up a Casino Royale card? But give the place a shot when you’re walking by.
