This was a weird one, but it sometimes ends up working out like you wouldn’t believe. First, what am I even talking about, and when would something like this be useful to deploy?

Some machines have multiple games built in. In this example below, for instance, we see Black Widow, White Orchid, Hephaestus Cash Eruption, and Regal Riches. The vast majority of the time if you’re in a normal casino setting, you’ll check the only advantage game (Regal Riches), often find nothing, and move on:

The big problem with cabinets like this that feature multiple games is that someone sits down and only has a one in four chance of building up the advantage game. Sometimes, it can be even worse, with some versions offering even more than four different games to choose from:

Once these games are idle, they will sometimes feature one of the many options on the main screen. Good luck getting the stars to align and having a patron sit down when it’s at the “right” game. If only something could be done!

Something can be done, friends.

Here’s what you do: Load up a tiny “sacrificial” voucher; the closer to 1¢, the better, as you don’t want to waste too much money on this lure. Once you do that and select the game you’re hoping to build some action on, the screen will stay locked on the game and bet you choose. So pick the best game (Regal Riches, let’s say), and pick the bet with the closest numbers to being +EV.

A few things: I only do this if I can check a few boxes. Will I be at this casino for a while? Is this casino small enough where I can easily check on my lures to see if I’ve had any bites? Is there a bet worth my time? In other words, this is great with machines that offer big denoms, as you wouldn’t want to go through all this trouble to maybe get some tiny spin. Does this casino attract folks who would actually bet big amounts? Again, if I’m at some hole-in-the-wall casino with a bunch of broke folks, they’ll probably just cash out the voucher and not play anything meaningful anyway.

This might all sound ridiculous, but just a few weeks ago I got a huge bite on a $75 Regal Riches:

Someone sat down, took one spin, added five blue wilds, probably then realized they were betting $75 per spin, had a mini heart attack, left. And I was close enough to see the end result. I came in, took a few more spins, and ended up making almost $2,000. I have the video posted in the Regal Riches section.

Below is my video where I show how to leave these little lures. They won’t work all that often, but when they do, they can feel extra satisfying.
