I hope this doesn’t come across as condescending, as that’s not the intent. I have the utmost respect for people who grind out a living or a side hustle by collecting cans and turning them in for profit.

Also, I kind of assumed Aruba had a bottle deposit program set up when I saw a guy looking for cans in a garbage can, but he was likely just a government worker. All that out of the way, the point hopefully still makes sense.

If you’re trying to collect cans and your area has 20 guys already collecting cans, chances are you aren’t going to find many cans. What do you do? Sure, you could get a new occupation, but what if you really like the freedom that collecting cans offers (and the money’s not bad, either).

Well, as I explored in this video, you might want to consider moving to a new turf, or at the very least explore other locations. Maybe a few streets over there are cans as far as the eye can see. Maybe you need to venture a bit farther than that (such as Aruba).

Try not to become stuck in your ways.

What was once a can haven may now be a can wasteland. So too with advantage slots, as more competition or fewer advantage games could turn a great place (Seminole Hard Rock, for instance) into a ghost town. You want backups and backups to backups so you’re not left wondering what to do when things go south at location No. 1.

Explore new places and learn what works and what doesn’t. Heck, worst-case scenario, you can cross something off your list and you were able to venture off to a new location.
