Got told not to do slots anymore at Resorts World (Las Vegas). Interestingly, I was told I could still do table games if I wanted, so it wasn’t a full ban, and it felt really informal. They asked for my ID, and I said I didn’t have it on me (ridiculous answer, but whatever). It was early in the morning (about 6:30), so I’m sure I stuck out by checking machines in an empty casino. Luckily, I had not used my players card this morning, though I did yesterday, and I’m sure they could connect the dots if they really wanted to. Anyway, just passing this along to be careful at Resorts World. There might be more opportunity here if you’re careful, though.

Yes they are quick to back off. My friend was in there for 10 minutes and they approached him.

Interesting. That probably explains why I had my two best finds of my trip there.

Clearly, the ban was more of a suggestion than an official ban (see photo). This is probably obvious, but I’ll say it anyway: When someone from a casino approaches you and wants to see your players card or ID, don’t give them either. If they tell you to leave, so be it, but they aren’t the cops and have no authority to demand anything.

Not necessarily, history has shown that hosts aren’t always in the loop on status from gaming protection – once went to a nearby casino to find that my account was locked for “comp abuse” – raising the issue with rewards I found out they apparently locked it ~6 weeks ago (and undid it a week after I raised the issue, as I clearly had played and lost a good bit over past couple of months – someone was just overzealous cutting everyone) – but I was getting continually offers and emails from my host that whole time.

I got told not to come back to Resorts World again this morning! Mornings, in particular, seem difficult. Same situation as before: They were exceedingly polite and asked for my ID. I didn’t give it to them again. This time, they referenced my earlier incident in June, which was the last time I stopped by (before last night). That tells me I’m getting ID’d with some sort of facial recognition.

Further complicating things is I have comped rooms here today and over the weekend, so it was even more imperative that I not give them my ID. Funny enough, a host here is definitely not on the same page as security, as he’s been texting me all “best friend, how ya doing?!” kind of messages.

I’m not sure if this rambling will be useful for anyone, but I figured I’d add some detail on Resorts World. I saw plenty of people brazenly checking machines yesterday afternoon/evening, so maybe it’s more of an issue when it’s completely dead (early mornings).

Actually, while virtually everywhere can have FRS because it has become so low in price, RW also uses a newer more advanced recognition system called GRS – gait recognition (gait as in how you walk) everyone has a unique gait ‘signature’ if you will.

… I as well was approached by the casino manager himself and was very politely told no more slots. This was a unique experience because it wasn’t a trespass it was a slot back off, and I was told to feel free to come on the property and play any other game they have to offer, just no slots.

… Previously I had been trespassed twice only for slots, and I stopped counting years ago the number of properties where I got backed off and or trespassed, but this was my first and only ever slot back off. I’ve been back there many times since, but I have on two occasions made a continued conscious effort to walk differently, and on three other occasions I used either a walker or a knee scooter to get around.

… And for those who are unaware: for FRS, a simple fix is to wear dark glasses, because FRS relies heavily on precise pupillary distance measurement. So for anyone who has previously been backed off at RW, walk differently and wear dark glasses.
