Hey everyone, I’m here because of the gambling with an edge episode. I bought your book and just finished the first month of subscription. It was really good thanks a lot. I very new to this form of AP but little by little it is making more sense.

Would love some information on pots o luck, it seems like an extremely similar skin to captain riches but I only played that game once as it not in my locals. I’m not sure the strat for riches other than play a wild colum with a coin active(correct me if wrong please) but it seem like wilds are worth less on pots on luck so makes sense to me to play it tighter than riches but dont know the answer.

im down like 40 bets trying out when the reels have 2/3 2/3 2/3 coins but not sure how valuable the mults are and have no idea what the pots about the reels even do tbh. Thanks!

        Glad you enjoyed it!

I’ve only played Pots O’ Luck a couple of times and didn’t get footage, which is why I don’t have it on the site. This is a good reminder to add it, which I will when I get back home later this week. I actually have this on the site currently: “There’s also an Irish-themed version I’ve seen at a couple of casinos, but I can’t even remember the name let alone produce an original photo.”

So here’s the thing: From what I’m seeing online, there are two versions of Pots O’ Luck:

        Version 1

        Version 2

The first video, from TheBigPayback (a popular slots YouTuber), shows game play that is a bit confusing. The reels appear to trigger at random intervals and not always when you gather three coins. This version seems harder to advantage-play, though as you can see at 7:35 in that video, sometimes the reels do lock in place as you’d expect.

The second version, from RandomSlots (another popular slots YouTuber), shows the version I’m remembering. From what I am seeing elsewhere online, this is the more common version of Pots O’ Luck and likely the one you are playing, though I can’t say it definitively without footage from yours. This one plays like all the others from AGS under the Ultimate Choice Jackpots umbrella of games: Captain Riches, Tiki Fortune, and Mine Blast—along with the less common Happy Blossoms and Happy Blessings.

If you check out those two YouTube clips, you should be able to tell which one you’re looking at after a few spins. Assuming you have the more common version, I’d play it as I would all those others: At least three multipliers and four coins in the second and third columns (better to have 3x than 2x coins). The fourth column doesn’t matter a whole lot. Also, if there’s an active wild in columns two or three, play until it’s gone.

So you mentioned, “a wild column with a coin active.” I’d play that too, as long as it’s not only in the fourth reel. That by itself wouldn’t be enough. Even the common version has some volatility to it, and some pros play it a little tighter than I’m recommending, but let’s first make sure you’re playing that version. The photo you attached would not be good enough to play because the coins don’t have multipliers and there are no wild reels.

Let me know if this makes sense. I know I’m throwing a lot at you.

That makes a lot of sense and you’re throwing just the right amount at me. I have been in a few Patreons and while the information is fine the chats are a mess and it’s hard to get an answer. I appreciate the effort, I will be sticking around.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>The second link is the game I am referring to good read. The information on ultimate jackpot helped a lot and plug some leaks for sure. I could tell in like 50 spins that 2/3 2/3 2/3 wasn’t enough so this will help a lot thanks. Props for mentioning the game in the write uP I just missed it.</p>

I have a few other questions about machines that I think are skins but not covered in guide. Would it be best to mention it here or make a separate thread for separate games?

Sure thing. Glad to hear this is digestible. This thread is good for more questions like that.

I may not reply right away since I’m biking around the Bahamas today and I try to give thoughtful answers when I do reply, but figure I’ll be back at the hotel no later than 8 p.m. ET tonight.

Very cool biking is a major hobby of mine, it gives me great joy.

I played magic of the nile for the first time the other day, it went great shout to the guide. It was a bank of 3 machines with the backs of the machine to each other, 2 Nile and this one. Looks promising and a similar idea as Nile. This AP?

While the different AP machine could be anywhere, I find my locals have a tell of keeping similar type AP machines near each other. They keep FU wren Wu next to buddda link, wolf peak next to cats peak, Frank next to bride ect. This makes me think being in the same bank as two niles is a good sign.

I have seen a bunch of new fancy machines lately that very popular but unfortunately don’t seem beatable to me. Just wanna make sure so I can officially cross them off the list. Any of these games AP?

jumami, Kong, wizard of oz and werewolf fury

Werewolf furry ( sorry on phone and could figure how to add two pics in one post)

These machine look and sound great kinda make the old ones look like shit.

Very true with AP machines often being in the same row or back-to-back. Not always, but it can be a good sign.

Electro Max…that’s a good one. I haven’t seen it in years and have it written down as a game I need to cover. I’ll be able to provide a rough minimum target later today when I get back to the hotel, and I’ll add a full page in a week or so. But I did want to quickly say it is definitely AP.

That werewolf one with the meter is not AP. I’ve seen some folks try to play it when the meter is all the way over, but that’s just for show. I remember reading the game rules for that one because it is a little convincing.

Jumanji, Kong Skull Island, Werewolf Fury all are not beatable. For Wizard of Oz, that version is not beatable. There are two versions that are AP, which I have entries for in the Games section.

Keep the questions coming! I’ll get back to you later today on Electro Max.

The beatable Wizard of Oz-themed slots: The Wizard of Oz over the Rainbow, Follow the Yellow Brick Road.

It’s possible there will be more in the future, but for now, those are the only two AP Oz games.

I’ll get a much more in-depth page going for Electro Max early next week when I get back from my trip, but for now, I’d play with any of the following (may slightly tweak as I’m writing the page):

                        • Two of the three meters one spot away from the top. So two of them at three places high. (Your photo would be more than good enough, even though that’s a demo screen.)
                        • Seven spots filled among the three. For example: three green, two blue, two purple. (The demo photo has eight spaces filled.)
                        • Any time you see a “recharge” if that color is three spaces high. For example: the blue is three spaces high with a recharge. (The photo does not have a spot with a recharge.)
                        • If there’s a “recharge,” I’d play if five spots anywhere on the screen are filled. (The recharge is pretty clear when you see it; it is orange/gold in color and sticks out from the rest.)

It’s possible to set off multiple features at once, which is when you can really make money. It kind of reminds me of Wish Mistress in a way (another great game).

Here’s IGT’s video of Electro Max, where it shows how the different features work. This is not the kind of game you’d get killed on if/when you do lose, but losses also won’t always be minuscule. It’s in that “yellow” tier: could lose 20-60 bets at times. I’m sure there are rare cases when it’s more if you keep resetting different vials and get underwhelming features.

Thanks Ben, really really helpful stuff.  While I got alot of people who i trust that can help in poker and sport betting, with slots i have largely been on my own.  This will keep me going good work, appreciate it.  Hilarious the photo i took was in an advantage state and I am almost positive I have seen wish mistress on my scouting.  That top of list to look out for

I believe that photo was of the demo screen on Electro Max. Sometimes when a slot is idle, it will show a promising screen for a few seconds. Games like Frankenstein and Lobstermania, among many others, come to mind. It’s sort of like a little preview from the slot machine.

Ok I got a few more.

I would like some more info on spy vs spy please.  Ive seen some information but I don’t trust them,  the person mentioned that you play when the board has more than 10$ on it but also mention when one color spy is “on” you bet the min but when the other color is “on” you bet the max.  Seemed weird but idk?

In the same vein I see alot of (what i believe is called , cant find the picture)  Dragon vs Panda??? Its remind me of spy v spy does this ring any beels?

o duh demo screen that makes more sense, when I was super new the demo screen on ocean magic got me every time

I would bet this isn’t AP but wanna make sure. I have never seen lobster mania 4, I have seen older versions but they are AP right? This kinda reminds me of all the different skins for huff and puff

Lobstermania Ultimate Treasure is no good for AP. Too bad, as it looked mildly interesting.

Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania 4 Link and Super Sally’s Shrimpmania 4 Link are AP. Those are two of the better games out there. I have sections for those in the Games tab.

Otherwise, there’s a Lobster-themed must-hit under the name “IGT Classic Hits” in the Games section.
